Chiropractic Neurology & Your Treatment

FUNCTIONAL NEUROLOGY

The brain and nervous system need three key components to function appropriately: FUEL, OXYGEN and ACTIVATION. If one of these is lacking, the whole system is disrupted. Subtle unwanted changes that give rise to a person's symptoms can be addressed by using the above three components in the right doses and manner.

FUEL goes without saying "garbage in = garbage out." If you put bad gas in your car, you can expect it to not run as well as it could. A healthy diet is vital to a healthy body.

OXYGEN we all know is vital for life also. If we are not getting enough or processing it the way we should, problems will definitely occur. A good example of this is with poor rib mechanics you will not get the inhale/exhale that you may need. Another example: Changes in the functionality of the nervous system may shunt blood away from your fingers and toes and result in Reynaud's phenomena.

ACTIVATION is self explanatory as well - it is focused stimulation to the nervous system. The reasoning for functional neurology stimulations can basically be summed up with the old saying "if you don't use it, you lose it." We take viable neurological pathways that need to be "exercised" and give them a workout - i.e. ACTIVATION that is specifically suited for the health of the system. Too much can be detrimental and if too little stimulus is applied you are spinning your wheels.

Trained extensively in functional neurology, Dr. Chad Miller can evaluate your needs and determine if you are a candidate for functional neurology treatments.
